Adrienne Rich, an accomplished poet, died from rheumatoid arthritis on March 27. I believe I first came across her work at the Jefferson Market Branch Library in New York City several years ago. Today, I thought I would write about a subject that might interest her if she were still alive.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that stiffens and inflames the joints. In the US, 1.3 million adults suffer from the disease.
